"I am not mad most noble Festus"
On Sunday I had the opportunity to go with my eldest son, Mark, to Boort where he was to speak. While he was doing this, I disappeared out into the Towaninnie plains for about 3 hours and found my way to my mother's grave.
Here is a photo of her grave alongside that of her only brother.
It is sort of "out there"
I remember standing by this open grave as a 6 year old boy. The farmers had placed some lovely sheaves of oats over the coffin before taking it in turns to shovel the earth back over it.
I've been on my own journey since that sad day and have come to the understanding that God is going to raise the dead from their graves on one great day.
It's more than a little possible that some reading this will say, "He's a little mad"
Get hold of a bible, (God's got a book out), and read in the New Testament the 26th chapter of the book of Acts. When Paul spoke about God raising the dead, Festus got very agitated and said, "Paul, much learning has made you mad".
No wonder I'm excited.
Another photo of the same place showing me being excited!

awesome :)
I do love that first pic - it looks like a lone grave in the dessert.
If Daniel never came out of the lions den, that's bad news for Daniel - but it doesn't really effect me at all. If Jonah never came out of the fish - that's bad news for Jonah - but doesn't really effect me at all - BUT if Jesus never came out of the grave, then I am in deep trouble.
If my Father is mad and my grandmother was mad, then I must be mad too.
Hi Don
My mother was a Holt (daughter of Frank and Heather and granddaughter of Andrew James Holt all of Quambatook as you probably know)
Drop me a line any time.
